Hardware and capacity

Does the model number mean that many inputs and outputs?

No. It's the total patch points, split evenly: a ProPatch 64 is 32 in × 32 out, a 128 is 64 × 64, a 200 is 100 × 100. See Hardware Reference.

Are the front connectors extra I/O?

No. They're part of the model's matrix, and on the 32, 64, and 200 some share a path with rear channels, so only one side can be in use at a time. See Hardware Reference.

Can ProPatch sum signals or turn stereo into mono?

No. A relay matrix connects inputs to outputs; it can't mix. Use external summing hardware. See Hardware Reference.

Do two ProPatch 64 units equal one ProPatch 128?

No. A 128 is one 64 × 64 matrix. Two 64s need tie lines between them, which use up channels and cap how many signals can cross. See Multiple ProPatch Units.

My unit has a Dante jack. Why doesn't Dante Controller see any audio?

The Dante jack alone doesn't pass Dante audio; that needs the factory digital option. See Hardware Reference.

Connecting

Ethernet or USB-C? Which Ethernet jack?

Either can carry control; wired Ethernet is preferred. Use the jack labeled Control, not Dante. See Hardware Reference.

Can I give the unit a static IP address?

Not from the ProPatch app. Contact Wolff Audio support before you change the unit's network setup.

Routing

The relays click but no audio passes. Is ProPatch broken?

Usually not. Clicks prove the command reached the hardware, not that the wiring is right; check cable direction (IN FROM DEVICE takes your Devices' outputs), Port IDs, and shared front/rear paths. See Troubleshooting.

Can I switch one microphone between two phantom-powered preamps?

Turn phantom power off and let the equipment discharge before you change the route. Never use a Mult or AB Group to connect two phantom supplies together.

Sessions and files

Is a Session the same as a Backup?

No. A Session is one recallable routing setup; a Backup (.propatchb) holds the whole workspace, every Session included, and restoring it replaces everything. See Sessions, Files, and Backups.

Session export failed. What now?

Save the Session in the ProPatch app first so your work is safe, then contact Wolff Audio support with the exact message, for example Failed to export session.

Control and software

Does Stream Deck work?

Yes. Send MIDI notes from Stream Deck through a virtual MIDI port and assign them with MIDI Learn. See MIDI Control.

Is there a mobile or iPad app?

No. Control ProPatch from Wolffhound on a computer.

Where do I update firmware?

In Wolffhound, choose Preferences… › PROPATCH › FIRMWARE › CHECK FOR FIRMWARE UPDATES. See Updates and Firmware.
